I made my very first knife (a slip joint folder) in 1978. I didn’t make another knife (my second ‘first’ knife) until 1994 when I made my first knife after meeting and starting to learn from the late, great ABS Mastersmith Jim Schmidt in the Fall of 1993. (I was a full time, self-employed goldsmith creating one of a kind art jewelry in the interim). I started learning how to make knives and forge Damascus steel in 1993 and went full time as a knifemaker in 1995. So, I have 2 ‘first’ knives. I say that I have been making knives since 1993 because that is when I actually started learning how to make knives on a steady basis.

        My works are complemented by her gold-smithing background and are all unique.
