Rodrigo Sfreddo sold his first knife at the age of thirteen. Many years later he became the first Latin American accredited ABS Mastersmith while winning the B.R. Hughes Award for best knife submitted by a Mastersmith candidate at Blade Show. Throughout his career Rodrigo has built his reputation with knives having the highest levels of attention to detail and design.
Known for his forged carbon and stainless steel knives, specializing in integral knives using Turkish twist Damascus (and other complex patterns), Rodrigo is credited as the creator of the Keyhole Hilt, a new way of installing a handle on a knife.
He is also a very good engraver, being known for his Sfreddo motif engraving with gold inlays and overlays on his knives. Rodrigo is an important Brasilian maker with huge influence in the South American and North American market.
