The Buster Award
The Buster Award is given in honor of knifemaking legend, Buster Warenski.
Buster Warenski was an American custom knifemaker, born in Kimberly Nevada, and lived in Richfield, Utah. He is best known for his “Art Knives” utilizing gold and many other precious materials. He was a member of the Art Knife Invitational, from 1983. Known for making some of the finest “Art Knives” of the day, his most famous knife is his reproduction of the solid gold “King Tut Dagger”, probable the most intricate and one of the most valuable knives made in recent years.
The Buster Award is a people’s choice award for the body of work presented at the show. Our intention is to have makers judged by the entire body of work presented at the show, not on a single knife. The winner is selected by majority vote. Each bidder has one vote.
