I started making knives in the Autumn of 1980 with the intention of only making one or two for Christmas gifts. Soon, I found that I could not stop after making one or two knives, or even ten knives – I was HOOKED on making knives!
Creating unique, one-of-a-kind knives has been the best way for me to express my passion for art. Creating art is so important to me. Many hours of meticulous workmanship go into each and every one of my hand-made knives. I take tremendous pride in my craft and constantly strive to expand my designs and abilities to make a knife. I love making new designs, especially if there is some challenge to making the knife – some new element I haven’t yet done.
In Knives ’98, I received The Wooden Sword Award from Ken Warner. As he explained to me the reason that I received the award was because of all the different styles of knives that I make, from antique Bowies and daggers to fantasy knives.
