Show Rules
10 AM until 1 AM Intent to Purchase period and Drawings
Drawing knives have the price listed on the box, and on the Intent to Purchase bid slips in your attendee packet. Please tear out the bid slip from your Intent to Purchase book that matches the knife you wish to draw, and place it in the box. At one pm the intent to purchase period closes, and your bid slips should be in the box of the knife you wish to draw. The Makers will randomly select one ticket from each box and set it in front of the box. The owner of the selected ticket will have fifteen minutes in which to exercise the option to buy. After fifteen minutes, the option expires. If unsold, the maker then will draw another name which will then have the option to buy. If you are drawn on a knife that you don’t wish to buy, please inform the maker, so that he may draw another name immediately.
10 AM until 2 PM Open Bids
An open bid has a starting price set by the AKI Member or Guest Maker. The bid you wish to place is written beside your name on the bid sheet in front of the knife. All bids are there for everyone to see. Anytime you wish to bid again, you write in a new bid on the next line on the bid sheet. The five minute bid extension rule applies. At the end of bidding, the high bidder is the winner. As in an auction, if you win a bid, you are expected to complete the purchase.
10 AM until 3 PM Sealed Bids
The Price the bidder wishes to offer is written on a bid slip and placed in the box behind the piece. At the end time the maker examines each bid slip and the high offer is the winner. As in an auction, if you win a bid, you are expected to complete the purchase. Two sealed bid slips are provided for each sealed bid knife. If you wish to increase your bid, use the second slip.
3 PM until 6 PM AKI Knifemakers and collectors reception.
The AKI member knife makers that support this show understand the fun of collecting, trading and displaying your AKI knives. Please note: only AKI makers knives are to be shown. A list of all past AKI member knife makers is found on the last page of the catalog. AKI related items such as books featuring AKI may be allowed by prior agreement with show management.
And as always no unauthorized solicitations are allowed. Show management respectfully reserves the right to remove anyone from the showroom who disturbs the dignity of the show or does not respect the rules.
I hope the above information is helpful and we look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas!
Sincerely,
Barry Lee Hands
